Introduction to Northampton Chess Club
Northampton Chess Club is a friendly chess club, which has some of the best chess players in Northamptonshire, but welcomes players of all abilities and from all walks of life. The Club participates in competitions within Northamptonshire and is the only chess club in the county to take part in the Bedfordshire League.
The Club aims to give all members opportunities to play in its representative teams and also organises a variety of internal competitions, ranging from the Club Championship to the 5-Minute Tournament, which are open to all members.
In the interests of the health of Club members (particularly juniors), the Club operates a no-smoking policy within the playing room (introduced in August 1999).
Northampton Chess Club is affiliated to Northamptonshire Chess Association, which, in turn, is affiliated to The English Chess Federation (ECF) and The Midland Counties Chess Union (MCCU).
